A motion was made by Cathy Hinsch and seconded by Barbara Wallach to accept the December 1st,
2009 minutes. (January meeting was unofficial)
Treasurer’s Report:
Deposit from the Town of Middlefield went through on January 19th, 2010.
Director’s Report:
• We received the State of CT report about our well. There were 5 violations listed. Violation 1
refers to the well and septic proximity (less than 75ft apart). Violations 2 thru 5 can all be
taken care of with a new well access hatch. We have until February 19th to respond – Todd will
be meeting with Lee Vito to come up with a plan and send the response next week.
• The budget was sent to the Town and Todd has not heard back from them yet – he will let the
Board/Association know when we do.
• A mailer will be sent out to local businesses about the Summer Reading program. The intent is
to have businesses sponsor specific programs and prizes. It was suggested that Todd also send
the mailer out to the Exchange Club, Lions Club and Junior Women’s Club also.
• Giftworks will be purchased. The Board approved the spending of $500 for the program
because there will be a great return on our investment. Many volunteers from the Board
offered to transfer our current Excel list into the new program.
Friend’s Group Report:
• Melissa is waiting to hear back from Sue D’Orvilliers about the Phon-a-Thon. Her intent is to
get more volunteers. So far phone and e-mail communications have both been successful.
